The Revenant

When I left my seat at the theater after watching The Revenant I was in awe. I actually said it was one of if not the most beautiful films I had ever watched. That was no lie. This film blew my mind visually and on the emotional level. Director Inarritu follows last year’s Oscar success of Birdman with a film I liked even better. I loved the scenery and the landscapes. Shot entirely on location and using only natural light, this film looks great. The harsh conditions of the rugged frontier is its own character in itself. Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, And Dohmnall Gleeson all immerse themselves into these roles. From the opening scenes that reminded me of Saving Private Ryan in the same intensity, the bear scene, and the final moments of this film deliver one of the most complete packages in film this year.

The Revenant- review 9/10

Just watched The Revenant it may be the most beautifully shot film I have ever watched. Leonardo kills it but Tom Hardy delivered an Oscar caliber performance and I hope he is recognized. Seriously if you love film you need to see this on the big screen to truly appreciate it. Easy 9/10 I truly enjoyed it.
