Annabelle Creation was pretty fun. The theater I saw it in was packed for the Thursday night showing. The crowd was excited and scared pretty easily. These are great experiences for the theater going experience that you cant always get at home.
Now the movie itself has rapid fire scares over it’s two hour runtime. The scares mostly consist of jump and audible scares, but Annabelle sneaks a few true terror scenes in from time to time. I enjoyed this enough to justify seeing it in theaters and would give Annabelle Creations 3/5.
The second film in my second marathon of 2017 is not actually directed by Q.T, but was written by him and directed by the late great, Tony Scott. True Romance feels like a Tarantino joint with his witty banter, grindhouse violence, and countless pop culture references. Q.T sharpens his writing chops with the script for True Romance. Many of his classic tropes can be seen in his script. Overall this is one of the best of his career and should be enjoyed by all! One of my all time favorite scenes stars Christopher Walken and Dennis Hopper that will leave you wondering what the hell you just heard. 5/5
The Dark Tower is not as bad as the reviews are saying, but it is not good by an means at all. I liked Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey quite a bit at times, but the overall story is confusing for fans of The Dark Tower books and non fans alike. The movie is entertaining and has good parts, such as the two leads and some of the action scenes.I’m glad it was 95 minutes. 2.5/5 stars
Hi all, I’m not sure anyone is even on here anymore. If you are reading this, then you will start seeing my posts about movies again. I am attempting to see a movie in the theater, each week, for the rest of the year. I will be posting reviews of the films I see as I go. I will also be watching, well marathoning
The Birth of a Nation was as powerful as it was a great film. Writer, director, producer, and actor Nate Parker has made the best film of the year and I encourage all fans of film or great story telling to go see the film in cinemas. At times the movie reminds me of a Terrence Malick film with the beauty of the hairs and imagery. It will be a shame if Nate Parker does not receive some recognition at this year’s Oscars for multiple roles durring the production of this fine film.
“You say romantic like it is a bad thing.” One of the most beautiful and best sensory experiences I have ever felt. Damian Chazelle provides us with this year’s best made film. The sheer amount of joy and pleasure I felt was unbelievable while watching La La Land. My foot tapped throughout and a smile almost never left my face. The performances were raw and felt real, while the callbacks to classic cinema and old school Hollywood were the exact nostalgia trip I needed to remind me why I and many others love film. 5/5
